The battle has been fought
Posted On 08/11/2007 18:11:43

Dear fellow DA-ers,

today I speak to you with great pride as the victor of the allready legendary "battle of DA" between myself and Darkdiver fought out in the exhausting period between 23.13h till 23.30h GMT.

It was an intense and fierce battle, where both sides had to use all resorts, to downright dirty means, to keep up with eachother.
As history has proven the most intellegent man will conquer and tonight it was no different. Although my adversary fellow diver at one point was taking the upperhand, the brilliant tactics of Sun Tsu haven yet again been proven: "Keep your friends close, your enemies closer".

At exactly 23:30.53 GMT I was able to give Darkdiver the last blow he could take... "beat you to it amigo" (please do notice the brilliant though killing sarcasm in this small but powerfull attack), at 23:31.38 Darkdiver was forced to seize the raging battle with the following words: "You are a god, I must bow..." .

Hereby I now demand the undevided attention and love from the females on DA and wish to be adressed as Conquistador Level, from this moment.

May god acknowledge my superiosity.
Conquistador Level

BREAKING NEWS: although the battle was fought according to DA's ROE, recent events made us believe something or someone (it is presumed this would be the ghost of Saddam Hussein) has persuade Darkdiver to regroup and attack again. The following message was released by Al Jazeera (shoutbox) only moments ago: [17:43] Darkdiver: good day all,Gotta go. Untill next time Mr.Level

To blog or... JUST BLOG
Posted On 08/09/2007 18:37:28

I've given this some more thought and actually have to reconciderate my
initial blog on this subject... Why? It's a mather of how you look at this website, and my first view on this website was a wrong one. For
me I always check out the main page, where there's a BLOG-area and
based myself on that, I looked at this site as one website, like a
forum.

But actually this website is a site for personal profiles... looking at it
from this angle, I have to come back on my words. The quality of the
site doesn't depend on what the users blog in their profiles. It doesn't depend on anything we do, the webmaster made a great area for us, all we have to do is stay active in it.

This doesn't mean that all of a sudden I find copy/paste blogs interesting, I still won't read to many of it.

So anyone who might of feel offended, I was wrong, you where right

To blog or not to blog, that is the question
Posted On 08/04/2007 08:01:32

"Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries"

I've found that many people just paste and copy stuff to their blog (including me once) and found myself clicking it and not even read it anymore, what I kind of expected to read in the blogs here would be more personal stuff, or like the explanation above says "personal online diaries", make it more personal people and it will be more interesting to read.

Don't know what the general opinion on this one is but if I want to read the news I'll go to CNN or ScubaHerald or other news information sites, make comments on the news or events going, don't just copy/paste them. The online jokes could be put in the forum.
What do you guys think? No hard feeling to anyone

3777
Posted On 07/25/2007 08:46:42

The following is the philosophy from 3777. I live by this philosophy and want to share it with you:

It is the way a specific group of human beings minds’ work. It is an
understanding of ones’ own mortality. It is knowing that one day you
will die and not allowing the fear of that inevitable fact prevent you
from living your dreams and doing what you love. Understanding that you
are only limited by your own imagination.

3triple7 is about learning to control ones’ fears and not
allowing ones’ fears to control them. It is the belief that the key to
happiness is having dreams and the key to success is making those
dreams a reality…

For a long time the founders of 3triple7 were extreme athletes.
They always understood that their sports were more then just
activities. They understood they were physical actions that stood for
ways of thinking. To call that way of thinking B.A.S.E. jumping,
surfing, skate boarding or anyone of the other death sports was way to
small, it needed a name, something that unified the way these athletes
from different sports minds actually worked. A term that unified the
philosophies that drive their lives; that is what 3triple7 is. It is
unifying the minds and philosophies of all activities that can end ones
life. A persons mind must work in a very special way to participate in
an activity that can kill them…

We believe that the single most important thing in any persons’
life is finding their passion. It doesn’t matter what that passion is.
It can be anything. However, once you have found your passion in life
you must then do what ever it takes (as long as it doesn’t hurt others)
to live it…

Looking for...
Posted On 07/25/2007 07:23:15
So due to circumstances I did not start my IDC this week and currently I am looking for a divecenter, anywhere in the world, to do my PADI IDC. By this way, if you are a CD or a DC organizing IDC's, let me see some hands... euhm ok, I'm open to suggestions and offers

A day in the life of a DM
Posted On 07/16/2007 08:33:59

So today was the start of a new week and what a start it was! I got up at 07.00 with the sound of some birds tjilping on a magnificant morning, starting at 20°C (for the record: that's not normal here in Belgium). Had a light breakfast and went for my morning run, (I know this sounds like I do this every day but in reality it has been 2 weeks ago and it was hurting like hell, but I'm not going to say that cuz' it will spoil the optimism I planned for this post), so heading back home I was looking forward to a cold shower and a good breakfast, just to jump on my bikecycle and make my way down to the local swimmingpool to arrive there at 09.30.

Having half an hour to set up 10 sets was plenty of time so all was relaxed and we went for a swim before work started (although swimming is our work isn't it?). At around 10.00 our students arrived, well students? Not really, a bunch of kids between 11 and 14 who're on a sportscamp this week who we will take diving/snorkeling every morning. So today I started with the snorkeling sessions, which are always fun because it's just playing games and see how far they can go before they almost drown , the rest of the week I'll probably only take care of the diving, which is pretty awesome to ofcourse, but on a more serious note.

So at 12.15 it seemed they, as well as me, had enough of it for today (yeah I like to push pretty hard on fysical exercise during snorkeling in a deep pool) so I again experienced one of the wonders of our jobs: seeing all those kids with a big smile up to their ears leaving the pool, running up to me to give back their equipment and leave with a loud: "see you tomorrow mister, thaaaaaanks!"

I wouldn't trade it for anything else
