Hey, My last week in Playas del Coco has began! I can count my last days at Rich Coast Diving on one hand. I’m happy to go traveling, but I definitely going to miss this place. The people in the dive shop and around town. And of course the amazing diving! Make sure if you ever come to dive in the Gulfo Papagayo, go to Bat Island and Catalinas. Catalinas consists about twenty rocks of different sizes and they are famous for the manta’s. Bat Island, also called Isla Murciélagos, is a guarantee of a beautiful and a great variety of wildlife. With some luck you see a lot of Bull Sharks at the dive site Big Scare. The visibility at the 22 local dive sites is about 18 to 75 feet. Because there are so many local dive sites, you will not get bored. Enjoy the immense variety of tropical fish, huge schools of snappers, sharks, eagle mantas, turtles and barracudas. The temperature is between 75 and 85 F. So don’t wait and come to Rich Coast Diving and take a deep dive in one of world best dive sites. See you, Lisan
Hey, I’m an advanced open water diver!! I finally did my four other specialty dives (next to my night dive which a did before) and a lot of knowledge reviews, so now I can call myself an advanced open water diver! The first dive was a wreck dive. We dived to the wreck at the local dive site Tortuga. It’s a pretty small fisher boat but it was really cool. The visibility was not that great, but there were fish all over the wreck, really cool. On our way back we was about six white tip reef sharks and some rays. The second dive was a drift dive. It was fun, but kind of strange as well. The next day there were three more course dives. I only had to do two, but of course I did all of them! We started with a deep dive to 30m. It was not really special except the idea of being so deep. And the colors were all different, I did not expect it to change that much. The second dive was a navigation dive. I really liked that, swimming around with a compass and with natural navigation, was really fun! The third dive we did the buoyancy control. In the beginning is was really hard to do the exercises, but after a while I could control my breath in the way I could control my buoyancy. I have two weeks left at Rich Coast Diving, so work work work and have some fun! Bye
Hi there, Again a week passed, time flies here! I’m already halfway on my internship in Playas del Coco. I started my Advanced Open Water by doing a night dive. It was amazing! I really enjoyed it. First, I thought I would be afraid by all the dark everywhere, but I wasn’t. I was really excited and after we went down the relax and calm atmosphere took over my whole body and mind. Shining with the flashlight to look for some life was grandiose! Back on the boat was little cold, next time I’ll bring an extra warm sweater. I also went on a morning dive where I saw a eagle ray so close by, it was amazing! But the most perfect thing was the Puffer Fish who was teased by two other fish and then slowly puffed himself up and then, when we relaxed again, puffed out. It was really cool. I also saw a scorpion fish as big as a cat. It was a great dive! I have to do four more dives to complete my Advanced Open Water. And then I’ll have to find a way to keep diving when I’m back in the cold waters of The Netherlands… Byee! Lisan

Helloo, I’m at Rich Coast Diving now for about 5 weeks, time flies. Still enjoying my time here. The IDC is finished, so we have a lot more people in the shop. Lot’s of costumers as well. A group of Canadian students came diving with us. Some of them were Discover Scuba Diving others did the whole Open Water Course. We had a lot of fun on the boat today, they really enjoyed the diving in Argentina and Tortuga. Today we saw three White Tip Reef Sharks! It was amazing.. We also saw a few Spotted Eagle Rays. The visibility wasn’t great but that makes the experience to see some sharks way more exiting. It was a really cool dive, even there was nothing really special. We also went to Bat Island where we saw lots of Bull Sharks. They are awesome. Bye
Hi everybody, I did my first four dives! It was amazing. Four days ago, in the pool: my first breath under water. We did some basic skills and finished confined water one and two. I had some problems with my mask, but I had a great time. The next day we did confined water three, four and five. Sipping out of a free flow was strange and I had some huge troubles with taking my mask of and put it back on because I had to concentrate to hard on breathing that I forgot the actual skill. Then the next they I was ready to go in the open water! First a briefing on board and then, finally we went in the water. The first dive was a fun dive in Argentina (local dive site at Playas del Coco). So we swum around and saw a shark, loads of other fishes and even a Chucho Pintado. It was great! In the second dive (Tortuga, local dive site Playas del Coco) I had to do some skills. It all went okey and then we went back up. It was a great experience, I can’t wait till tomorrow, my next two dives. Open water dive three was as great as well. There were so many colors, fishes and then out of the blues this shark passed by! Amazing! On dive four I had to take of my mask. Somehow I didn’t manage to bring it back on and I started to panic. Luckily my great instructor Rob from Rich Coast Diving hold me and I couldn’t go up. In the and I got back calm again, regained my breath and put up my mask. Back on the boat we went back to the harbor and the dive day was over. Now I finally am an official open water diver! I can’t wait to dive in the deep again!
Hi! I arrived in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica. This is where I will live the coming ten weeks. I will do my internship at Rich Coast Diving. As the name already defines, it’s a dive shop. I will take a look at the marketing affairs of Rich Coast Diving. Next to that I will of course dive! I’m busy with studying the basics of diving. First I will start with my PADI open water degree. I’m really excited after reading the first chapter, even though it’s boring. When you hear all the stories from the already dive masters or dive masters going to be. All the people around here are really nice and friendly. It great to make you hobby your profession. It is a really relax life style, and you notice this in the way the people treat each other. It is really hot here therefore I can’t wait to dive in the water! In my next blog more about my progression in the world of Rich Coast Diving! Bye!
