I was turned onto this site by a friend in diving, not sure what this place was all about. You see I come from a place that is alot more hardcore than most of you are used to. this place is called spearboard.com. over there we are all about shooting big fish and tales of the dark side. I am kinda jaded in the fact that our natural waters are not as beautiful as many of the places you dive as far as corals and sponges. not that our place in the world isn't beautiful but in a different way. our beauty is when we come around the side of a wreck and are greeted by a 30 lb gag that let's you get a stone shot on him. you see to me beauty is getting my hands into the gills of a beastly fish and getting him on my stringer and making it back to the surface alive and not bent. beauty to me is seeing a gracious spotted eagle ray glide by and immediately looking behind him for that big cobia that is going to be the next post on spearboard. beauty to me is toting a big red snapper and fighting mr goliath grouper off me so I can tell my buddies how this volkswagen size fish was barking at me down there. I am a lover of the sea as all of you and I respect nature as I don't try to touch the bottom if i can help it other than the sand but I enjoy taking home some fresh ocean groceries to share with my family and friends. Dive area is a great place to learn about other peoples lands and seas where at my home site we don't get a whole lot of. I hope to contribute a different side of diving that most people in the diving industry will not show you. I hope to teach you guys the truth about my sport so that you will know it is a much better way to get fish from the ocean. most of the fish you buy from the store or in a restaurant is not speared fish and the methods they use out there would make your blood boil. imagine the dead fish that die just because they bit the hook or got scooped up in a net only to be tossed back in the ocean dead. I have already made a few friends and I hope to help this place grow and be an entertaining experience.
