I am happy to say that i have just gotten a really sweet job up on Hamilton Island which is located in the Great Barrier Reef!!
I will be starting up there in a couple of weeks so i will organize my stuff and head off
Its going to be pretty hard not to have a good dive up there i reckon

for anyone interested this is the website for the dive center i will be working for  http://www.h2osportz.com.au

Another Bonus for the day.....
Posted On 10/18/2007 06:57:18

Well couldnt get a better day although the vis was rather crappy today but the good part is this..... I got a new wetsuit how lucky am i its a new 6.5mm scubapro semi-dry

What a laugh it was though to see me get out of it LOL i was a little stuck in there when it came to getting it off over my head after trying it on.

So once i finally got out of it i stuck it in the wash tub full of water and a little wet suit treatment to soften it up a bit before i went for a dive.

All kitted up and ready to dive the guys and i headed down to shelly beach in eden. Was looking pretty nice from the surface but unfortunately once in there the vis was rather crappy but we still enjoyed about 30mins of looking around

I have to mention the suit was awesome i dnt get cold at all in the 14degree celcius water and i dnt have the usual thermal rashy underneath that i normally wear or my gloves on so i am loving it heaps already

LOOK OUT ....

Guess who is now a new Divemaster ....

How exciting finally after some real hard work and a hell of a lot of study and theory I am now signed off as  a  DM  all the paper work  was  completed and sent off  today

It has taken a little while to finish but its worth it all in the end all the hard work has paid off big time

So who's coming diving with me LOL

An other awesome day...
Posted On 10/06/2007 06:03:12

So what can i say but i am so lucky and am loving the whale season they a fantastic animals!!

No a bad way to start off a dive i say....

Off to the dive lodge friday morning to help alittle with an open water course and the best part take a customer in fact i can say friend now for a double dive for the day

We decide just on the merimbula wharf quite a nice easy dive and there is a fare but to see there. I park my car and we get out i notice quite a few people staring out to the sea on the wharf not really to worried but as alway i want to no whats going on so i had up there and just off the wharf are a few humpback whale doing there thing i was so excited all i was thinking was i would love to see tese guys under the water while diving!! We raced back done geared up and a way we went but before long the whales was a fare distance from the actually dive site so i had to settle with listening to them communicating under water it was a buzz hearing them. After about 25mins cruising around out we hopped to change over tanks and a short rest to jump in for the second dive. This time it was a good fun dive i must say apart from the part where i got stung across the face with a jelly fish i am not sure the type of jelly they were but they are not so harmful as the others they sting but its not unbearable so it was all good and well i had to continue my dive and put up with the stinging down my face. Was so funny were were checking stuff out and feeding the big blue groupers when we came across a brand new fishing rod under the water was so funny.

All in all an awesome day

AWESOME
Posted On 10/04/2007 00:21:28

How exciting from a boring 10hr day sitting in the shop twiddeling my thumbs has just turned cool!! I had a fellow shop owner down here in the wharf come in all happy to tell me "Look a whale" and pointed across the road

Just across the road from the shop here there is a small bay and to my surprise there is a whale playing around in there it was awesome, This guy was splashing around making a big sceene tail waving at us and the leap out of the water was great now i have a great big smile across my face

Truely amzing these mammals are gotta love them

The Chip Mill
Posted On 09/24/2007 07:07:39

This is a rather nice dive gets its name as it is located at the chip mill wharf in Eden.

Good dive for everyone heaps of cool stuff to see

the dive is basically located  around the wharf pilons around as well as the reef and weed patches surrounding.

Around the pilons and weed u will find the weedy sea dragons what great creatures these are they are amazing. Depth is quite shallow deepest being 15-16m

Its was awesome i saw heaps of cool dragons, puffers, cuttlefish, groupers, urchins, ananimones, wrass, parrot fish etc

Great dive its a must also

The Cave
Posted On 09/24/2007 06:42:43

Not a bad dive this i really enjoyed it .... was my first dive here beleive it or not and its one of our main dives here in my area, but for what ever reason i have not done it yet in all the years i have been diving is crazy.

What can i say the sea cave quiet a nice dive just of the coast at eden situated at Leatherjacket
Point juts out a little bit from the coastline. Just a few metres off the point
there is a bombora that comes up from more than 20 metres to less than 4 metres.
as you descend you will see a wall
that drops from 6 metres down to 17 metres or so. This wall runs in a
north-south direction before turning to the east and then back to the south. At
the corner where the wall first changes direction, there is what appears to be
at first a large overhang. This is in fact here the cave entrance is its very cool.

You can actually swim right the way through this cave but it tappers out and gets a little tight towards the other end.
