Hey Mike, if you get a once a year trip you should check out who is all going on the Black Beards trip in Sept. We (they) still have opening. It going to be fun. And nice warm water. LOL

Yeah, that's one of those dilemmas I have, as a DM I should follow the standards, and I used to be a good boy and do everything they told me to do, but the more I learn and the more experience I get the more I start to question some of those standards.
I still dive with a snorkel whenever I have a student with me, although it's pretty hypocrite of me because I will dive with some of those students in the future on a fun dive, and they'll see me without a snorkel.
Thanks for the suggestion on the buoyancy check. I guess I never really thought about it that way, but it makes sense. really need to find out how negative my tanks are. I use double LP 85's. I know they are still somewhat negative even empty, I just need to look at the specs. But once again thanks.
