Hi there I am doing well...all settled in Jomtien Beacch area and I have my first charter planned for Thursday.  Not to sure how lucky I will be for work...but that is fine either way.  I am still very interested in the OMS gear btw.

Would you consider yourself an expert on The Similan and Surin Islands? I am writing the Krabi diving section of a guidebook for Moon Books (www.moon.com) but they also need a writeup for the Similans/Surin Islands. I do have other people I could use but it's great publicity for very little work (20,000 Americans are the target audience) as I'm sure you have access to most of the info.

Hey

Sorry I haven't been in contact sooner, I'm staying with the 'Outlaws' in Finland and my wifes father is working me like a dog at the moment, painting, cleaning, harvesting etc, etc,

Firstly, I was sorry to hear about the crash, I hope nobody you know was involved, lets hope that's the last bit of bad news for this upcoming season, chin up.

Should be  back in Ao Nang in the first week of September but I'm still having hassle with my Non-Imm B visa, it's always the same, I leave the country and the rules change. I brought copies of everything but it still isn't good enough. The Thai lady in the Helsinki Embassy wanted my original work permit, I could only look at her in disbelief and explain that surely she should know, that I have to hand it in when I leave Thailand. I've now had obtain a letter from the Krabi labour office stating that I do have a work permit and I will get another one, so long as they give me a visa.

I don't know about you, but after three years of doing business in Thailand, I am tired and angry with having to deal with time-wasting Thai bureacracy. I try to do everything by the book, I have invested a lot of money in Thailand, I personally employ 12 Thai nationals including three Thai instructors, I pay my taxes and my social insurance, I am fully insured  and I am a responsible and caring family man. Yet, whenever they can, Thai authorities play their little games and make me jump through hoops. I know it's not just me, but there comes a time when enough is enough.

Anyway enough of that, I had to get that off my chest.!

How you holding up over there, how is low season treating you, are you prepared for the mad rush  in the coming months? Who do you work for by the way?

Cheers

Stuart
