I was wondering if there could ever be put out a list of the Admins & Moderators on the site & when they are on the site. Even though there hasn't been much trouble on this site, it might be good to know when & where the Mods & Admins are to quickly report any potential problems.
My LDS just got in a new Datamask yesterday. I got to look at it & look into it. To say the least,... it's very Sweeeeeeet! It is a hoseless air integrated dive computer built into the mask. Alls you have to do is glance down to the lower right hand corner of the mask & you have all your data right there- Air pressure, nitrogen loading, depth, bottom time, any info you need for your dive. All's I can say is I want one!
My new drysuit should arrive sometime this week. It is a custom cut DUI TLS350. The main part will be black with Neon Yellow across the shoulders & chest with Royal Blue trim (I like to be seen!). It'll come with a lot of the bells & whistles (pockets, knee pads & so on). I'm sooooooooo excited. I can't wait to "test drive.... er,... dive" it ! My instructor has ordered me about the thickest undergarments on the market to try to keep me toasty (I'm such a cold water wus ), a pinnacle Merino Evolution. It is about 600gm of fill material plus a lighter undergarment for warmer waters. I should hopefully be as snug as a bug in a rug underwater. I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!!!!!!!
Well the time has come..... I will take my written final tonight. I have a fairly firm grasp of all parts except the physics. I am just having a little trouble remembering formulas & who has what gas laws for more than a few minutes. I am continuing to study them though, in hopes that it will stick. Need all the luck & prayers I can get.
I'm selling my drysuit to get a custom cut one. This is a a White's Catalyst (Classic) drysuit. My avatar picture is showing it. It is less than 1yr old & only has about 30 dives on it, so it has no real wear on it. It has only been used in fresh water quarries (no salt water). It is a MK (Med. King- a little larger cut around the middle) The size chat says it fits divers up to 5'9" & up to 200lbs. It comes with the suit, light fleece, heavier undergarments, 3mm neoprene socks, boots & a carry bag. I am asking $900.00 + $25.00. I would really like to see this suit sold. I have more pictures of it if anyone is interested. If you are interested or have any questions please feel free to PM me.
Congratulations to all who won the contest! I'm proud of you all.
I just booked a trip with my LDS. It is an "all girls" live aboard trip in the Bahamas on the Cat Ppalu. Right now there's 10 of us & the instructor. Only room for 1 more. I had said that I wasn't going to travel this next year, but sorta got my arm twisted. I am doing my Dive Con internship under this instructor & was told that I wouldn't pass that phase of my Dive Con if I didn't go (she was kidding of course) . She even got the guys in my class to pressure me (glad she did ). What a hard sell. We will leave on June 6th & when we arrive in Nassau, we will stay the night & do a little gambling, shopping & stuff. On the 7th, we board the boat for a week of diving & some "female bonding". I firmly believe that we will all have a great time! Here's to good times!
After 2 weeks off (1 week vacation & 1 week I'm normally off), I go back in to work tonight . For me it's pretty much the same old grind (working in a lab) test paper pulp every 2hrs..... Well, I can't complain too much, it finances my hobby.....er,..... addiction .
It's raining cats & dogs right now,... not that it's a bad thing. We've been in quite a bad drought this summer. The bad part is a local diving board is down, a large international diving board is down. Sigh....... well, at least Dive Area is up. There lots of friendly folks here!
