Rebreather course
Posted On 09/04/2007 14:48:11 by MARTYTHEHAMMER
I must tell you about a rebreather course I took in La Paz.  As being an instructor myself, I now understand how important it is to be the best instructor you can be.  The instructor "I and a dive buddy who is also an instructor" had was one of the worst instructors I have ever had.  This guy didn't read the material before hand nor did he know what he was doing. So the course was being by the seat of your pants.  Even though I received  certification card I know I will be taking another course.  So the question I have has anyone had a bad experence with a course and why?

I guess I've been blessed to have good to excellent instructors. My OW instructor was very good. She taught only recreational diving, but in that field she was excellent. The instructor I am currently under is both a recreational & technical instructor. I am currently an OWSI  & an Adv. Nitrox courses under him. I would like to work on the technical side of things but know I have slow down a bit and concetrate on the instructor course. I've been told he'll hammer you on your weak spots, not intimidate, but really make you work on them so that, as a diver (technical or recreational) you'll be able to handle anything that could happen & survive. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience in your course.

DID YOU MEAN TO SEND THIS TO ME?
