Beach clean-up
Posted On 09/21/2009 10:44:22 by Richcoast
Last weekend, we were working on a padi aware project. It was the annually international beach-clean up day. We worked our way through the streets of Playa Hermosa, as well as on the beach to pick up trash. In total, we picked up over 500 pounds of trash and raised $500 for the beach fund. It was a beautiful day with over 100 participants. Carlos Hiller contributed to the project by donating a painting that was painted together with the kids on the beach. Bat islands
Posted On 07/23/2009 12:53:19 by Richcoast
2 days in a row I went to the Bat islands.  We planned to go to the Catalinas. but the ocean was flat as a lake, so Bat islands seemed the right place to go.  Did we make the right decision!   Both days were awesome.  The first dive site was big scare.  The name came about because it's famous for the bull sharks, and boy did we see bull sharks!  At a depth of 12 meters we had about 5 or 6 just circling around us.  Adrenaline rushing through your body and scream... It was on the second dive we saw the sea turtle which was a first for them and I never get bor... Read More

Around the Kava Bowl
Posted On 03/01/2009 18:05:04 by MatavaFiji
So here we sit on the deck at the front of the resort. Smiling, laughing and telling stories to people we met just hours ago. Jone or Robbie will be mixing the Kava and the conversation will flow from the colour of the sky to a story about one of the guests hometowns and back again.

Mas, one of the Divemasters will grace us with his voice and guitar playing skills and believe it or not I have even seen our barman Joji get up and dance. The kava is pounded fresh and the boys continue to... Read More

More IDCs

Well what can I say?  The economy hasn't hit Costa Rica too hard, we are still busy and the IDCs are growing. Our next IDC is March 22nd with an IE right behind it on April 3rd and 4th.The diving is a bit cold, but that makes up for all the rays we see.  So as you can see, no complains from our part of the world.Happy diving
