Rising Sun Dive Centre was set up By Adriano Fusillo and Mirko Tommassi back in 1996 and has always been based on the South East Coast of Zanzibar. Rising Sun moved to Breezes Beach Club and Spa in late 1997. We now also cater for The Palms hotel and Vacanze as well as many other smaller hotels in the area.

Since 1996 there has been a massive change in the development of Zanzibar which Rising Sun has moved with. We started with a large sailing dhow called WoWoWo, and have now got 4 boats including the beautiful Jimukka which has recently had a full console steering system and GPS with Echo Sounder added on.

Personal has also changed the Centre is now run by Paul Shepherd, however Adriano is still around keeping his eye on proceedings! That is when he is not racing his beloved bikes!

We were originally an SSI centre but changed over to PADI in 2002 and haven't looked back becoming East Africas Only National Geographic Centre in 2006.
