As for the picture - I am in it but I assume you are asking about the face shot and that would be dive buddy at the u/w pumpkin carving. I'm in the background holding onto the pumpkin (no face). I believe I have a face picture in the gallery.

Rivers? Not many rivers out here in the wild wild west frontier of Afghanistan, sweety? What little water we had from a recent storm turned into thick mud, then talcum powder dust overnight. Plus the bearded guys with black turbans in these parts aren't going to be very friendly towards me in my SCUBA gear. Getting anywhere around here is extremely dangerous with IEDs, roadside bombs, and more minefields than any other place on earth. Check sites like afghannews dot net or afgha dot com for the local happenings around these parts.
All I can say is be very thankful for what you have in the good 'ol USA!
